How much are V-Bucks?
V-Bucks are only sold in fixed packs, and bigger packs give more V-Bucks per dollar. In the US the packs currently cost:
- 800 V-Bucks for $8.99 ($11.24 per 1,000)
- 2,400 V-Bucks for $22.99 ($9.58 per 1,000)
- 4,500 V-Bucks for $36.99 ($8.22 per 1,000)
- 12,500 V-Bucks for $89.99 ($7.20 per 1,000)
So one V-Buck costs between 0.72 and 1.12 cents, depending on the pack.
What changed in March 2026
On 19 March 2026 Epic lowered the number of V-Bucks in every pack while keeping the dollar prices the same. The $8.99 pack went from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks, a 20% cut, and the largest pack went from 13,500 to 12,500. At the same time the Battle Pass dropped from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks, and Fortnite Crew's monthly V-Bucks went from 1,000 to 800. Item Shop prices in V-Bucks did not change, which means every skin now costs more real money than before.
How the cheapest combination works
Because packs come in fixed sizes, the cheapest way to get an amount isn't always the obvious one. To get 2,000 V-Bucks you can buy one 2,400 pack, or three 800 packs, or a 4,500 pack. The calculator checks every combination and picks the lowest total price, then shows how many V-Bucks you will have left over.
For example, a 2,000 V-Bucks Legendary outfit needs the 2,400 pack ($22.99), which leaves 400 V-Bucks spare. Three 800 packs would cost $26.97 for the same 2,400 V-Bucks.
Ways to get V-Bucks without buying packs
- The Battle Pass pays back V-Bucks as you level it up, enough to buy the next pass if you finish it.
- Fortnite Crew includes 800 V-Bucks every month along with the Battle Pass and a monthly outfit.
- Save the World Founders, players who bought a Founder's Pack, earn V-Bucks from its daily rewards and missions.
Watch out for "free V-Bucks" generators and websites. They are scams that steal accounts; the only real V-Bucks come from Epic, its store partners and official gift cards.
